Mission Statement
Seven million
Medicare beneficiaries live outside our major cities. Ambulance service
is their gateway to the world’s finest medical care. In the next two years,
changes in Medicare reimbursement will threaten their access to EMS.
Rural EMS Advocates
are committed to providing those seniors with quality basic and emergency
life support services and transportation. REMS Advocate is a non-profit
association of rural EMS providers and their partners in public policy
who share a commitment to best practices, cost-effective public policy,
and ethical advocacy for access to care in areas with low population densities.
REMS Advocate
membership is free, and all rural EMS providers---volunteers, municipal
providers, hospital-based, and investor-owned---are encouraged to join.
REMS Advocate
is committed to responsible stewardship, open debate, transparent policy
process, and ethical advocacy.
